Times of Refreshing

Last weekend in our 3rd-5th grade environment our teacher used an illustration about her ten year-old nephew who has both Down’s Syndrome and Autism and is unable to communicate with her family.  At the end of the lesson a 4th  grade girl near tears raised her hand and said, “You remember that boy the teacher talked about?  My brother is just like that.  I can’t tell you how refreshing it is to hear we’re not the only ones.”  How refreshing!  What a grown up phrase, huh?  She shared with her group leader through tears of joy how thankful she was to know they weren’t alone.

  1. So thankful they both shared. If our children do not learn to love EACH and every soul NO MATTER what....love like Jesus loves...then what are we teaching them. Love always with great compassion. Thanks Southland for sharing. My son was in this class. He has had his heart fixed and has worked hard with developmental concerns. We pray he always feels excepted and loved and that he loves those around him this same way. We praise God each day for him and for our church home. We, our whole family, loves serving others through SCC and its desire to reach the lost and hurting world.
